This qualification is designed to:
- Provide learners with an in depth understanding of the operations and structure of businesses.
- Equip learners with the underpinning knowledge and skills required to succeed in employment or further studies.
- Enhance Employability: Graduates understand business operations, boosting their job prospects.
- Smooth Transition to Further Studies: Equipped with foundational skills, learners can advance easily in business education.

- GCE AS/A Levels
Entry requirements
Learners must have:

Academic
No academic background required. Admitted learners meet the necessary capabilities for learning and assessment.

Age
Learners must be 16 years old or older at the beginning of the course.

Experience
Mature learners with management experience must check with us prior to registering.

Language proficiency
Non-native English speakers must demonstrate English language proficiency.
Structure
The completed qualifications consists of:
- 4 Mandatory units + 2 Optional
- A combined total of 120 credits
- 1200 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT)
- 480 Guided Learning Hours (GLH)

- Introduction to Research and Academic Skills (10 credits)
- Using IT for Business (10 credits)
- Introduction to Economics and Accounting (10 credits)
- Introduction to Economics and Accounting (10 credits)
Optional units

- Introduction to Customer Service (10 credits)
- Managing Business Events (10 credits)
- Introduction to Marketing (10 credits)
- Introduction to People Management (10 credits)
Duration
The qualification is delivered through two routes
Both are flexible in their delivery to accommodate part-time and distance learning.
We deliver this qualification either online or face-to-face through lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops etc. You choose the pathway that suits your circumstances.
Standard route

Assessments
How will you be assessed?
All units within this qualification are internally assessed by us and externally verified by OTHM.
The qualifications are criterion referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. Judgement that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria is made by our Assessors.
